This session introduces students to design thinking in a low-risk, creative environment where you can bring your ideas to life. Starting with the prompt "What do you need?," you will explore your psychological, physical, or other needs through mind-mapping techniques using shapes, colours, and keywords. After getting your ideas out, you’ll work on setting the Five Ws for your invention (Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How) to guide your invention's audience, purpose, and creation process. By the end, you will actually create your idea through sketches and craft material and pitch your personalised inventions.
In this session, you’ll practice how to develop ideas from scratch while being conscious of audience, context, and utility, and have some fun exploring all the possibilities!
Hosted by Zhana.
Drop in between 18:30 and 19:00, and stick around until 21:00. Reserve your free tickets here.
About the Creative Studio Sessions
The Creative Studio Sessions are an open invitation to get creative without pressure or expectation. Join our studio experts every weekday evening for a free-wheeling session focusing on a different artistic discipline and theme. These sessions are not art classes, but rather open-ended, dedicated studio time for students to explore concepts, techniques, or creative prompts as set by our studio experts. No matter your skill level, everyone is invited to join. Come if you are looking for new inspiration and ideas, or to try out a new skill. Your creativity is like muscle, it needs a workout!
You are also welcome to work independently in the creative studio during these hours if you do not wish to participate in the Creative Studio Sessions.
