Embracing Failure & Redirection: talk and student open mic

  • Exhale Mekelweg 8-10 Delft, ZH, 2628 CN Netherlands (map)

Things go wrong but that is OK!

Join this talk to hear from a range of panelists and alumni of TU Delft who embraced career paths that diverged from what they anticipated. Our panelists will share experiences about how they navigated their way through things that went “wrong” or were willing to pivot into a new direction. We’ll be talking about ambition, social pressure, expectations, reframing notions of “success” and “failure,” embracing uncertainty and the unknown, and much much more. You’ll be guaranteed to hear a different perspective about life after TU and to find reassurance in embracing the unknown.

The second part of this event is an open mic and gives a chance for students to share stories about things that have gone wrong but actually turned out well in their work life and career. This could be anything from missing a train to completely upending your life. The aim of this part of the evening is to encourage frank and candid conversations about life and career decisions and to remind you that however lost or confused you might feel, you are definitely not alone!

Come down from 17:00 for surinamese snacks and broodjes from Marli Food and for music from Groover Jazz. The discussion kicks off at 19:00.

More information about our panelists Deborah Sumter, Pieter Bree, and Carolien van der Rest is below.

This event takes place in Move and Create.
